Șteff Chelaru first studied fashion at the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design "Unarte" and then also scenography at the Bucharest University of Theatre and Film Arts. She participated in numerous fashion exhibitions and received several awards for her creations. Among others, she created the set design for the performances "Pe lumină" and "Lecții despre iubire și creier" at the Bucharest Metropolis Theater. For Chelaru, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is also the first collaboration at the GSTT.
