Following the two performances of 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗹 at the Jewish State Theater Bucharest, the play will be performed on January 30 and 31, 2024 at 19:30 on the stage of the German State Theater in Timisoara.


Written by Thomas Perle and Clemens Bechtel and directed by Clemens Bechtel, the play recreates the anti-Semitic environment in Timisoara in 1938, when two hand grenades exploded in the auditorium during a performance by the Jewish-Bukovinian singer Sidy Thal and her ensemble at the Timisoara Theater. Four people died and 70 others were seriously injured. The four performances in January were scheduled around January 27, 2024, the day chosen by the international community to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust.
