La Teatrul German urmează patru reprezentații „Cartea junglei”, după Rudyard Kipling, în regia lui Răzvan Mazilu

16 February 2023

The German State Theatre Timisoara invites you on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, and Wednesday, February 22, 2023, every day at 11.00 am and 7.30 pm, to four performances of "The Jungle Book", the show staged by Răzvan Mazilu, one of the most beloved in our repertoire, adapted from the storybook by Rudyard Kipling.

Five years after its premiere, the show was revived last year and returned to the repertoire of the German Theatre. Part of the original cast has been replaced by the German Theatre's new actors Marc Illich, Bülent Özdil, Robert Bogdanov-Schein, and children who were selected in the theatre's public casting last autumn. Thus, the role of Mowgli is played, in turn, by Ștefan Bogdan and David Săracu, Shanti by Maria Lupoian and Lara Mazilu, and Junior, the baby elephant by Darius Ardelean and Luca Graziano Marcu.

The Jungle Book tells the story of the human cub Mowgli, raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. His friends, the wise panther Bagheera and the funny bear Baloo, warn Mowgli of the danger that awaits him: the tiger Shere Khan has returned. Despite Mowgli's desire to continue living in the jungle, Bagheera and Baloo plan to take him to a nearby village. An adventurous journey ensues, as Mowgli has to face Louie, king of the apes, and the cunning snake Kaa. The musical, directed by Răzvan Mazilu, with a colourful set design by Dragoș Buhagiar, speaks charmingly to children and grown-ups alike about friendship, love, loyalty and the spirit of sacrifice. The show is adapted from Rudyard Kipling's stories, and will not be without hits from the eponymous cartoon, such as The Bare Necessities and I wanna be like you.

THE SHOW IS TRANSLATED INTO ROMANIAN

Tickets can be purchased at the theatre box office and from the Entertix network:
