Tatjana Morariu, former GSTT actress (known by her stage name Tatjana Fulda), died on 10 January in Frankfurt am Main

17 January 2024

From 1958 to 1973, Tatjana Morariu worked as an actress at the German State Theatre in Timișoara (GSTT) and was known to the public as Tatjana Fulda. Since 1973, she has lived in Frankfurt am Main and, like many fellow emigrants from GSTT, changed careers.

Her favourite passion was theatre and her work is documented in publications such as "Neuer Weg", "Neue Banater Zeitung", "Karpatenrundschau", "Volkszeitung", "Die Wahrheit", "Red Flag", "Szabad Szo", etc. The list of plays she took part in during her 15-year career, as well as the related reviews, is significant. Particularly important is Wilhelm Junesch's article "Theater-Test" in the "Neue Banater Zeitung" of 14.12.1969, which underlines her popularity:

"The German theatre has its important cultural and political tasks, but it can only fulfil them if it has an audience. These two things must be kept constantly in mind, and it seems more than ever lately that they really are. But as far as this test is concerned - it may be interesting to know that Margot Göttlinger, Tatjana Fulda, Peter Schuch, Otto Grassl and Ottmar Strasser are audience favourites - the theatre has to make its repertory policy, its cultural policy on its own responsibility."
