THE GERMAN STATE THEATRE IN TIMIŞOARA (GSTT) ON TOUR IN TRANSYLVANIA
Between April 11th and 14th 2008, GSTT organises a tour in Northern Transylvania with two of its acclaimed shows, FIREFACE, by Marius von Mayenburg and SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, Simona Vintilă's adaptation from the Brothers Grimm.

The performance of FIREFACE was hosted by stages in Romania and abroad (in Transylvania, Bucharest, Gheorgheni, etc., as well as in Osijek, Stuttgart, Ulm, Bruchsal, Novi Sad). Director Radu Alexandru Nica from Sibiu, is a 2004 laureate of the UNITER Debut Award as well as a laureate of the Directing Award offered the Colloquium of the National Minorities' Theatres in Gheorgheni.

The audience will meet the members of an apparently well-knit family: the parents' relationship is shallow and void of affection; their son, Kurt, reads philosophy and torches the entire neighbourhood, and his older sister, Olga, with whom he commits incest, does everything in her power to escape the confines of adolescence helped by her friend, Paul.

Cast includes: Georg Peetz, Isolde Cobeţ, Ioana Iacob, Alexandru Mihăescu, Radu Miodrag Vulpe. Scenography is signed by George Petre.


SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, the second fairy-tale – musical directed by Simona Vintilă, performed on Ilie Setpan's music and with lyrics written by Dana Borteanu, will have its first performance on tour.

After the premiere which took place on March 2nd 2008, around 700 spectators fell under the spell the dwarfs' music and rhythm, singing along with the actors.
The beloved fairy-tale, captivating at any age, and the music performed live, create one hour's worth of relaxed atmosphere and joie de vivre.

Performing actors are Simona Vintilă, Boris Gaza, Daniela Török, Dana Borteanu, Radu Miodrag Vulpe, Horia Săvescu, Ramona Olasz, Isolde Cobeţ, Olga Török, Tatiana Sessler, Andrea Nistor, Alex Halka, Iosif Csorba, etc. The scenography and the choreography are the work of Geta Medinski (Timişoara National Theatre) and Helen Ganser, respectively.
