The Theatre Union in Romania (UNITER) announced on the 27^th of February 2018, the nominations for the XXVIth edition of the UNITER Awards Gala that will be held on the 7^th of May 2018, in Alba-Iulia. The German State Theatre is present on the list through three nominations.

Thus, in the category Best actress in a lead role actress Olga Török was nominated for her role as Eréndira in the show “The Incredible and Sad Tale of Innocent Eréndira and Her Heartless Grandmother” by Gabriel García Márquez, directed by Yuri Kordonsky.

For their creation for the same show, Best scenography category, we have Helmut Stürmer (set design) and Ioana Popescu (costumes and live sand drawings), the latter being the scenographer at the German State Theatre Timisoara.

And last, but certainly not least, among the directors nominated for Best director is Yuri Kordonsky, for directing the same show.

The show „The Incredible and Sad Tale of Innocent Eréndira and Her Heartless Grandmother” by Gabriel García Márquez premiered in September 2017 at the German State Theatre Timisoara. Playwright is done by Rudolf Herbert. The cast is completed with actors Ida Jarcsek-Gaza, Horia Săvescu, Rareș Hontzu, Franz Kattesch, Radu Brănici, Isa Berger, Dana Borteanu, Harald Weisz, Aljoscha Cobeţ, Richard Hladik/Mihály Csongor, Dana Borteanu, Isa Berger, Radu Brănici, Harald Weisz and Aljoscha Cobeţ.

The show marked the second collaboration of Yuri Kordonsky with the German State Theatre, after “the Seagull” in 2013.
