Dana Borteanu


Born in Reşiţa in 1967. She graduated from the German department of the acting school in Timişoara in 1997, year Ildikó Jarcsek-Zamfirescu.

As role for her final exam she chose Marthe in The Misunderstanding by Albert Camus.But her first appearance on stage of the German State Theatre  Timişoara was before her graduation, namely in 1991. Since then she appeared in stage in the following productions:

The Plant in The Little Shop of Horrors by Howard Ashman; director: Darida István-András, 1993;

Prudencia in The House of Bernada Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca, director: Darida István-András, 1996;

Paquerette in Hotel Particular by Pierre Chesnot, director: Darida István-András, 1997; 

Heike in The Lost Island by Geo Iancu Cãlinescu, director: Nicolae Porghirc (guest), 1997;

The Old Clown in Wolves by Theodor Smeu Stermin, director: Theodor Smeu Stermin, 1997;

The Woman in The Float of Medusa by Marin Sorescu, director: Sütö Udvari András, 1999; 

Luise Schwarz in The Robbers after Friedirch Schiller, director: Clemens Bechtel (guest from Germany), 2000;

The Storyteller in Red Riding Hood, Red Riding Hood by Ernst A. Ekker and Sergej Dreznin, director: Marina Tiron-Emandi (guest), 2000;

Sittah in Nathan the Wise by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, director: Ildikó Jarcsek-Zamfirescu, 2000;

The Teapot in The Beauty and the Beast, adapted by Simona Vintilă & Ilie Stepan, director: Simona Vintilă, 2008;

The Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, adapted by Simona Vintilă, director: Simona Vintilă, 2008.

Nonetheless appreciated are her countless performances in Swabian evenings and entertainment evenings  of the theatre such as: The Moth Box, The Best at the End, Songs from the Heart, Bernd's Oldie Show, Music makes you younger, B&B. Dana also sang in various Rock Pop and Jazz bands.
